We want to upgrade our existing library (Overland NEO8000) to IBM TS4500 or Quantum Scalar i6000.
Does anyone have practical knowledge with one of these libraries (or better both libraries)?
In the case of IBM everything would be from a single source, everything would probably be more coordinated.
On the other hand there is a difference of 8000€ (we have a stingy commercial manager, he just looks at the price)
Is Quantum equal to IBM in quality?

Kind regards
Walter Reis

Quantum Scalar i6000 is an excellent library.
The question is how many tape drives, media slots are you ordering and goes much data is going to get backed up.

I have looked at both libraries in the last month for a purchase and I chose the TS4500 over the i6000 simply because the former is a horizontally moving and expanding library that is, in my experience, stable and has less robotic problems to work with.

I would go for the TS4500 in a heartbeat.
