Hello!

When I setup my LTO4 library I'd set the format to ULTRIUM4C. I've since realized that almost none of my data compresses and I get very little more than 800GB on a tape and having the compression turned on is doing nothing more than throwing off my metrics and tape statistics.

Can I change the format from ULTRIUM4C to ULTRIUM4 without screwing up all my existing tapes? If so, great. But, if not, then how can I change the format? I don't have that many tapes right now and if I do have to re-write them I can do that - I just need to know how to expire all the tapes and get it done.

thanks,

My take on this is to just leave the ULTRIUM4C setting (assuming you did force it to just ULTRIUM4C) and add ULTRIUM4.

This way, your system can use either and you don't have to worry about formats as the system will select this for you automatically.
