On TSM 7.1.1.1 - TSM DB Restore Error

Hi All,

We are trying to move our TSM Instance to a new hardware (in preparation for clustered setup). We backed up the TSM DB on disk.

Setup up the new server, install TSM Server 7.1.1.1, created required user/group and folders, created TSM instance.

Mounted the disk where the TSMDB was backed up.

Removed the TSMDB1 using command 'dsmserv removedb tsmdb1'

Used command to restore db - 'dsmserv restore db'

The restore started, the volume was mounted, we can see progress and total bytes transferred. After the volume was closed. We encountered this error

ANR2970E Database rollforward terminated - DB2 sqlcode -5099 sqlerrmc /hoe/tsmi

We checked the directories from the old TSM Server with the new TSM Server, it is exactly the same.

Any suggestions?

Is the Directory ownership correct?

Restoring as the instance owner? TSM Password correct? Have you copied the TSM password file from the old to the new server?

I tried their solution, and checked DB2 config. All seems OK. But I still can't restore the TSM DB.

I opened a PMR as well.

Just an update regarding this subject...

Tivoli Support recommended removing all data inside the log directories. Followed this and TSM DB restore was a success.
