PREDATAR Control23

Hi, as per my client need, I have to take some data backup/archive at DR and restore/retrieve them at DC.
How can I do this as both are different TSM server ? What are the options ?

Here is the high level:
  • install OS
  • install same version of TSM as on original
  • create a TSM instance, it will be overwritten by the restore, but make sure the directories are the same and that they are the same size or larger.
  • replace dsmserv.opt, volhist and devconfig with the one from the original environment
  • then jump to the manual to follow the steps to recover the DB and storage pools:
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowl...bm.itsm.srv.doc/t_recover_srv_db_stgpool.html

Thanks Marclant, but I don't want to do all this. I just simply want to take some data backup at DR and restore at DC.
Can I do by Import/Export method ?
If yes, what should be the complete scenario with command (in case of using Tape).

Hi, use export / import if the tape technology is the same on both sites.
How much data?

Check th esyntax with help export
The check the syntax for import

Good luck

If you are going to do an export/import using tape, you can review this section of the manual for the procedure and commands: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowl....ibm.itsm.srv.doc/t_exp_xprtmprt.html?lang=en
