Hi,

If i need to add more than 40 new clients (both windows and Unix), do we have any thumbrule formula to

1. estimate how much i need to extend my FILEPOOL and tape pool.
2. Replication is also enabled in my TSM servers
3. Estimate the database growth and how much to increase the TSM DB and log

I went through multiple articles and calculations but each has different derivations
Can you please share some suggestions

Thanks

thanks moon-buddy, i saw that post too, but a little late.
i had a query on that thread, which i posted there.
==================here it is---------------
I have few queries,

1. Total Storage Capacity (GB) and Total Storage Used (GB) - are these the size of the filesystem and amount of the data that is on the filesystem of the client node ?

2 . I used this worksheets attached. And i am getting a value for the storage pool size -
which is the sum of Total Data Changed for all clients
but it seems to give a very low value - Does this mean that this is a size for the disk/file storage pool only to hold daily backup changes ?
ie- for a client with 5 TB data size, 10 % data changes , total data changed daily comes to 508 GB.
But this sheet says that

Storage Pool Size: 508.928 GB Storage Pool Size is the sum of Total Data Changed for all clients
Is my calculation correct?

3. Library capacity = Total Storage Used + Total Data Changed Daily * Days Data Retained
this gave a 20357.1 GB - is the capacity that is required for this node on tapes ?

Please help me understand

Thanks
