The retention inspected files after backup changed?

Hello gentlemen.

Could someone get me the following questions?

I made a backup a folder using a backup policy with retention of 5 years. The folder contains 14 GB of files, backup inspected the 14 GB, but transferred to tapes only 2.5 GB due to infinite incremental function.

The files that were only inspected (11.5 GB) had their retention changed to five years along with the transferred to the tape (2.5 GB)?

Or the only option to ensure the retention of five years of the 14 Gb files would be the archive?

If you need to keep the data for 5 years.
- Archive
- Backup sets

With backup, your going to encounter what is called rebinding.
There are no rebinding with archives.

I read about how the backup retention and I would like to confirm with you.

I will use the archive for this situation.

The backup retention is only if something happen to the default mgmtclass or there is not a backup copy group.
