Can I exclude vm that are powered off? I know about option "-VM=vmquest1, vmquest2 etc"
Is it possible to exclude powered off quest automatically without changing exclude list?
No you can't. It will backup all the VMs specified by the -VM option, regardless if they are running or not. Typically people if they want to backup VMs or not based on the need to be able to restore them, not the power state. Plus if you are doing incremental backups, if a machine is powered off for a few days or more, nothing would get backed up on those days because nothing changed since the previous backup.
