Hi I have a few linux-servers where dsmcad is just eating cpu. 35-50% when its just idleing and not doing any backup.
I have tried a few different clients. 8.1.13.3, 8.1.15.2 & 8.1.17.2 and its the same. The servers are running Ubuntu 18.04 and 22.04 and one machine with Debian 11.

We have about 50 linux servers this happens on maybe 10-15 of them.

Also, maybe or maybe not related: Sometimes the dsmerror.log is just flooded with error until the server runs out of diskspace with the error

2023-05-10 12:43:34 ANS0361I DIAG: thrd_BeginNamedThread(): Maximum configured thread count of 2500 exceeded.
2023-05-10 12:43:34 ANS0361I DIAG: thrd_BeginNamedThread(): returning RC_UNSUCCESSFUL.
2023-05-10 12:43:34 ANS0361I DIAG: Error -1 starting session thread.

We are running the backups as an BaaS, so we only have the client-side of the backups. The server side is at an Cloud and Host company.

What version of the GSKit are you using?
If your using GSKit 8.0.55.14 there is a known issue causing what your encountering.
Solution is to upgade the GSKit to current levels.
