Upgrade to IBM Spectrum Protect 8.1.3 to 8.1.4

We currently running a new installation of IBM SP 8.1.3 with OC. I would like to use the new reports option of OC 8.1.4. Should I need to upgrade both the OC and IBM SP to 8.1.4 or only the OC.
What are the proper steps doing the upgrading? Has anybody tried it? Any problems???

You will need to update both systems to 8.1.4

I have updated both AIX and LINUX from 8.1.3 to 8.1.4, no hickups.

HUB server and OC must match version.

Yes in short terms that is what we do. I always use the ./install.sh -c, since CLI is my preferred enviroment.

But, as usual, do a test upgarde on a host with the same OS level. That will give you an idea of how you should do it.

It depends if they run on the same machine or not. If on the same machine, yes upgrade both.

I got a newsletter information, that TLS1.2 is a MUST when using Server Level 7.1.8 and/or 8.1.2 (or higher)....

Is this a true information ? If yes, ALL TSM-components must be updated (even ALL clients !). Did/Do you have these "problems" or is it possible to "switch-off" TLS1.2 ? What about using LTO-8 ? LTO-8 needs Server Level 8.1.3 or higher ... with the same restrictions/problems !?

Is that REALLY true ?????

Hi,

TLS will be used IF client AND server are bothe above 7.1.8 or 8.1.2

You can still use older clients without SSL/TLS
