I would like to not use the -q flag when tsm starts up however I also want its output to goto a device equal to /dev/console and not to /dev/console itself. Not to a file that could fill up a FS as well. Any suggestions? Could I specify /dev/tty0 for example? Thx!!

I guess ill use /dev/console or write my own /dev/console2.

Why do you want to do this? TSM is to run in the background and the console mode is primarily used to troubleshoot any startup issues.

And in addition to that, critical errors are logged in /{instance_dir}/dsmffdc.log
