Hi All,
i just try vm backup on virtual machine and i have get the errors?
my command;

backup vm SERVER1 -vmbackuptype=fullvm
File <unspecified filename> is larger than the maximum size supported by datastore <unspecified datastore>

could you please help me?

It might have todo with the block size of your VMFS datastore. Depending on your VMware / VMFS version and choosen block size the size of a single file is limited.

please could you explain "independent disk" . i am confuse a bit the situation. if i add "VMPROCESSVMWITHINDEPENDENT YES" parametter in dsm.opt file will all the disk skip ? (withoult local disk)

I think you anwser belongs to the wrong thread. VMPROCESSVMWITHINDEPENDENT has nothing to do with your error message.

BTW: You can mark virtual disks as independend. When doing so they are skip on snapshort creation and won't be part of the backup. What do you mean with "local disk"?
