Hello

Recently i have setup TSM 6.2.2.0 on AIX Platform. While initiating Image Backup of RAW Device i am getting this warning

Command

dsmc backup image /dev/gl_system_02
BackupImage Function Invoked.

Imagebackup of volume '/dev/gl_system_02'
Unableto take a JFS2 snapshot for volume '/dev/gl_system_02'.
Operationwill be performed without using a snapshot.
Usingstatic image backup for volume '/dev/gl_system_02'

I would like to know how to rectify this error.

Any dsmerror.log entry?
Could you check that, please!

TSM uses a default size of 100 percent of the file system size for the snapshot size so you must have that much space on that VG to perform sucessful snapshot image backup. The percentage of the file system used for the snapshot cache can be adjusted via the TSM client option 'snapshotcachesize'.

For testing in dsm.sys you can set:

snapshotcachesize 1

Does this help?
