Have you tried turning on the netbackup client logs and increasing the verbose level to their max value.
If it is hanging on a file the log should let you know where it has a problem. I am not sure if netbackup prints out file is going to look at or at the file
is has just finished backing up.
Also run the backup with only a single stream. This is for two reasons.
1.
You will not have debug info for multiple volumes intermixed in the log file.
2.
If it is a vss issue you will not multiple vss snapshots occurring at the same time.
It may be that the single stream may be the quick fix.
Also do you see any vss/ese errors in the windows event logs?
Try turning off vss for user files.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Backup status 13 after installing EMC VSI storage viewer 4.1 on Windows 2008 R2 SP1
After installing EMC VSI storage viewer on our Windows 2008 R2 SP1 virtual center machine the file backup just hangs and finishes with status 13
Uninstalling EMC VSI storage viewer made the file backup work again
Suspect that it has something to do with the combination of Volume Shadow Copy and the EMC VSI storage 4.1 viewer, so that it is actually the Shadow Copy Components backup that is hanging
Any suggestion on how to get both EMC VSI storage viewer 4.1 install and a working backup ?
