As that talldude suggested, beta releases should be clean
installations.  See this from the NB_75_Beta_Primer.pdf:

        Supported installation criteria
        The following list describes what this Beta program supports:
        │ Clean installations of NetBackup 7.5 are supported.
        │ Upgrades from a previous NetBackup Alpha, Beta, or an
earlier version
        of NetBackup to this Beta release are not supported.
        │ This Beta release does not support mixed-server
configurations. (The 
        final release of NetBackup 7.5 provides the capability of
maintaining 
        a mixed master and media server environment.)
