I would agree with this. Especially if there are millions of files. Experienced this problem once where a poorly designed application took up only a few hundred MB, but was millions of directories. It took the OS and NBU a few hours just to build the filelist for this one directory. We excluded that directory and used a scheduled task to run winzip at another time. I would look around for something like this.

You can try backing it only that drive in multiple streams. May be it is just a folder, file which is creating problem.

This is on NBU 7.0.1 Windows and the client is an Ent Vault server. There is nothing different about any of the drives other than this particular one is larger than the others and has 390gb of free space.
