I was only referring to the client, thinking perhaps that part of the
GUI would call a command apart from bpclntcmd to affect the stale host
cache, or the settings there might trump the cache.

You mentioned removing DNS from nsswitch.conf, but it not helping. Have
you gone the other way and changed the client IP address to something
new in DNS to confirm bpclntcmd can even get its info from DNS?

Just thinking out loud, I sorta' feel that IP address has gotten
hard-coded somewhere. Where, I do not know.
