[Veritas-bu] Convert from Solaris Master/Media to Windows NBU 7.0 need to
2010-10-17 09:05:08
I've not actually done one but that is supposed to be a hairy process full of
pit falls. This is usually done as a professional services type job.
It sounds like you have a master/media server combination. How about simply
creating a new Window media server to add to the NBU domain? That way you
don't have to go through a conversion process. You also are able to isolate
the dedupe process onto a separate server. The documentation for dedupe
recommended not putting dedupe on the master server. Too much competition for
system resources.
The documentation also includes the following tidbits of info:
CPU speeds should be 2.2 GHz or higher
You should have 4 CPUs or more
4 GB RAM is a minimum
A 64 bit operating system is required (Windows, Red Hat, SUSE or Solaris (SPARC
chipset))
