You need the client kit, at least in the same install directory as the JAVA kit to do the JAVA install. It is a built-in requisite.

No way OUT!.

As someone once said “… A’int that the truth”!.

Forgive me,

but I see a reference to a Windows Java Installer (NB_6.5.4.Winx64_CD.exe) and then a 6.5.4 update to the 6.5 Java Installer (NB_JAV_6.5.4.tar). But where is the actual base installer. The Java update installer has a dependency on "NB_CLT_6.5.4_<6 digit number>.tar". Which I had a copy of on DVD but that still lead to a dead end.

Why is this so overly complicated?

Go to the link, select your version and check the Unix platforms for a linux version perhaps?

I can't for the life of me figure out where/how to install just the Java
Admin Console on Linux for 6.5. I have 4 DVDs full of NBU software but
all I see are clients and server installs. Searching Symantecs site
usually just leads me to patches and updates, but not the base installer.

Can anyone help clarify this mess?
