What you need to watch out for is what Symantec supports on the x86 Solaris.
For instance no dedup support yet for 7.0. Data domain doesn't support OST on
x86 for Solaris. They didn't support for a BMR master until 6.5.3 I believe. So
just figure out what you need to run on the media server and double check the
compatibility matrixes

Does anyone of you have any experience with a Sun Fire x4540 as a NetBackup
Media Server ?

As we recently discovered that destaging on Windows Media Servers is somehow
limited (speed) we tested this on a Solaris box and saw a huge difference.
Therefore we want to try out this SUN Fire server as a Media Server.
