[Veritas-bu] Status code 23: "Socket Read Failed" occurs when the schedu

Dear Good Samaritans,

I need help to resolve an intermittent issue of the scheduled Vault Policy (with a configured Vault Profile) that sometimes failed with Status code 23: "Socket Read Failed".   I am running Netbackup 5.1 on Solaris 8 64-bit.   Master and Media server is configured in a server box.   Tried to search for technotes but failed to find one.

Based on the recommendation from the troubleshooter it may be due to the corrupted binary of the bptm, however I do not think so because all the backups to tape and destaging from DSSU to FDSU (tape) has no issue.   I try to search for the errors "get_num_avail_drives: readline failed: socket read failed (23) and get_stunits: get_num_avail_drives failed with stat 23" in the bpsched logs but not found.
