I’d say its hit or miss on the first attempt.  More often than not we have to “tweak” the files we restore to get it to boot.

How many folks here can do successful os restores of windows 200x servers? It is about 50/50 for me. I do everything the same and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

 

Rebuild the client OS to the same version and sp level. Install the client (to current version) do restore of everything. Reboot and it comes back or doesn't.
