Hi
If it is behind a firewall, look for a device setting that "stops" SAP/Oracle 
online backups running.

One of our devices was causing the backups to fail all the time, and it was 
after checking the firewall settings, we discovered a port "reset" problem, 
which according to Netbackup, aborted the job.

Normal File OS was fine, as per originator.

Worth a look (if this could be your scenario!)

Are you behind a firewall by chance?  

I'm having issues with my SAP db backups as well, but there was a bug noted 
awhile back not being able to swap tapes.  Reading this thread though,  maybe 
I've got the same issue you have (OS backups work fine).

I have the same issue w/RMAN backups, I have a case open with Symantec (I 
occasionally get this sporadically):
