5500 is not in production any more. They have the DXi7500 Express, instead.

1. Sorry not tested yet.
2. DXi 3500 has only inline deduplication. DXi7500 has in and of line deduplication (post processing)
3. DXi7500 has full support for OST. (With the latest firmware). Can do replication and netbackup is aware of the copy. Also has direct export to tapes (only with i500 and i2000 libraries)
4.
Not tested yet.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Quantum DXi Experiences

I'm looking for real world experiences with anyone using the Quantum DXi 3500, 5500 or 7500 VTL's with de-duplication without or with any of the Sun SL series libraries using ACSLS.

Discussion points could be:

1. Ingest performance bottlenecks if any

2. Post processing (land to DXi disk, then dedupe)

3. Planing for 6.5.4 OpenStorage API

4. Average deduplication ratio

Thanks in advance

Scott
