PureDisk is licensed per host and per front end TB.

If you are a Netbackup customer already, your standard clients in NBU, are the
same for PureDisk. No extra cost! If you have to buy more licenses for
PureDisk, you can interchangeably use them in NBU. Of course not everything is
a good candidate for Dedupe.

For the Front end TB licensing, it's rather cheap and easy to figure out.

Calculate what you want to dedupe, let's say you have 3.4TB of actual data.
You will need 4 - 1TB licenses.

The hardware is up to you, but most industry standard server will do, poweredge
2950, DL380, Sun, IBM, etc... On a SAN or some DAS.

One PureDisk server can manage 7TB of post deduped data. That could
potentially be some 20TB of initial data. Pop in another PureDisk server to
your StroagePool, and you've added throughput, redundancy, and more capacity.

Not to mention this is one of the few products out there that can support
Global DeDupe.
