We use unrestricted media sharing here.  It saved us a tape or two a week, not as many as I thought.  Your mileage will vary based on how many jobs you write to tape concurrently.  I.E. if 2 media servers are writing jobs to tape and they both finish around the same time, both will leave partial media behind.  However if you leave that media in the library and say, write incrementals or more fulls to the same volume pool, Netbackup will "back fill" the partials before pulling more scratch.

Hi all,
Does anyone configured "Media Sharing Server Groups" or enabled "Unresticted Media Sharing for ALL Media Servers" in NetBackup 6.5?
Any luck with this or any gotchas?

TIA,
Mike Wigington
