It sounds like the master does not know about the media server. On the master 
go to admincmd directory and run nbemmcmd -listhosts. If your media server is 
not listed, run nbemmcmd -addhost to add it. These entries are required when 
you run add a host (-machinename, -machinetype, -masterserver, 
-netbackupversion, -operatingsystem)
