If I was you, I would share all drives to all servers. There is
no overhead for just 3 media servers.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] SSO overhead question
Our
environment HP-UX 11.31 a SureStore 20/700 library with 10 LTO1 drives,
NetBackup 6.5.2 Master / Media server and one Windows Media server using
SSO. The Windows Media server and SSO are new and so far everything is
working as planned. We may be adding another Linux Media server using
SSO. The Windows box has 2 SSO licenses but is zoned to be able to see 4
drives.
My
question is, should we change our configuration so any SSO attached Media
server can see all the drives in the library and let NetBackup handle drive
allocation? Will the overhead of SSO doing sharing checks cause
noticeable performance problems? Are there any other “gotchas” or things
to look out for with SSO?
Thanks
in advance…
