No comparison info as I've never touched
Omniback, but what it will probably boil down to is real dollars. If you
can show NBU to be a cheaper solution to install/run/manage, then that
is what upper management will want to hear. The higher ups typically don't
care about what product is installed, only what it does for the bottom
line.
For instance, if Omniback has to be
installed on HP servers with HP-UX, that may be more expensive than a comparable
Sun/Solaris combo for NBU.

My company is being bought by another and they're
currently an Omniback
shop.
I may have to defend Netbackup's use at this location and, perhaps, even
promote it as a replacement for Omniback in their other locations. I'm
looking for any comparison information you may have.
