There are lots of issues with
6.5.2. Just do a google search on: netbackup 6.5.2 and you'll see.
These aren't necessarily all issues. There are a handful of issues for which there are fixes available *today*. There are lot of questions on how people use the product and no release will ever resolve that. NetBackup does a lot so people will always have issues.
For
instance, we went from 6.5.0 (master server: Win 2003) and then:
- the same night where daily incremental were supposed to run suddently, ALL
Jobs ran as full backups ... (known issue and there's a binary fix for this)
- on the weekend...all jobs that had an open window crossing midnight failed
with exit code 196 (precisely at midnight). There's also a fix for this.
- and now I discovered that VAULT won't run...you have to run it manually...
I'm about to open a support case for this...
This is not a global problem. Because it won't run for you doesn't mean the product is broken (it may be, but we can't conclude that yet).
Vault works fine for us.
So you've identified 2 issues for which fixes are available - and have been for quite a while - and one issue that you haven't even logged a case on yet. That's hardly a convincing reason to wait for a release that we have no experience with.
