Re: [Veritas-bu] 6.5.2 & 6.5.2A BEWARE!!!

Whew, that’s a relief for my side of the house but I really
do empathize with your pain, Ed, as it was painful rolling back. I felt I
couldn’t risk reapplying 6.5.2A in the Symantec case I opened to have
Symantec troubleshoot my production environment while missing backups.
Here’s to 6.5.3 and in hoping it fixes some of the “minor”
issues I was applying 6.5.2A for and everyone else’s “major”
issues.

This turned out to be wise - unfortunately we didn't get the same advice.
We upgraded from 6.5.1 to 6.5.2A last week and we have multiple cases open with
Symantec already. I'm not quiet ready to call this a "brown paper
bag" release but it's not far off. Critical issues from destages not
working (we have an EEB for this) to 6.5.1 snapshot clients not even
working. Another issue we had an EEB for in 6.5.1 was supposed to be
fixed in 6.5.2 but we're seeing a similar issue again. Solaris 10 master
with Windows 2003 x64 and Solaris 10 media servers.
Right now we're struggling going forward rather than reverting. I'm not
sure which is going to be less painful in the long run. And next week I'm
scheduled to make a presentation to NBU Engineering... :-)
Sigh...
