We have just had this response from backline
RE: "Status 25 on LINUX clients for RMAN multi channel backups".
I have seen identical symptoms before (once). I am almost sure this is a thread safety issue affecting calls to vnetd and bprd functions. 2 channels work fine. Anything over 2 channels and channels > 2 will fail.
Symptom: Oracle terminating VxBSA libs associated with the channels > 2:
# ChildEBP RetAddr Args
to Child
00 00000001 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 xbsa!dbc_close+0x12db8
This is due to the x86/64 synchronisation architecture on Linux and Windows which can potentially lead to segmentation faults. Oracle will detect this condition and terminate the faulting channel by calling xbsa!dbc_close. This is a soft exception hence it is not likely to create a core dump.
The workaround is to use bpcd.
You will never see a failed job in netbackup as it never gets submitted.
It will only appear in the RMAN logs
