but goal posts have changed and now in a sticky dilemma.

cannot upgrade yet, so may have to blat relook at this.

I know this answer is too late for you, Simon, but the "base" install
for the X64 client is disguised as a 5.1 MP4 pack:

Maintenance Pack NB_51_4_M.winnt.x64.exe provides fixes to the VERITAS
NetBackup (tm) Enterprise Server / Server 5.1 on Windows 2003 x64
clients.

After that's installed, you can apply MP5 (or MP6 or MP7).
