Hi Dave,
My experience is with 6.0MP4 but you may
see the same performance increase. I have a variety of servers which range from
V240 – V890s to E25K domains with 4-8 boards assigned.
I got about a 20% increase, sometimes a
lot more and sometimes less. In the end it depends on the DB, file sizes or
whatever you are trying to backup.
Anyway, I recommend you do not put any
entries into /etc/system as anything I had in there seemed to be smaller than
what Sol 10 booted up with.
I would be curious to hear your
experiences so keep us up to date.
Regards,
Dom

I have just been delivered a new Solaris 10 media server.
As this is the first Solaris 10 media server in our
environment, can anyone point out any pitfalls that differ from solaris 8
regarding the installation.
