OK I've pretty much sorted this, but the client install is HUGE even with the Java directory stripped out.  Talk about bloatware!

Surely, for example, these don't need to be on every client?!

Subject:        NBU 6.5.1 Solaris Client Install

For NetBackup 4.5 - 5.1 we had a script which let us install Solaris clients from a central admin server (not a NetBackup server).  This was because we have firewalls between the servers and clients, can't use ftp, can't ssh between the master and clients, etc.  So our script :

hacked the client ftp_to_client script (e.g. under client/Solaris/Solaris9) to copy the files locally to the master and build an image.

scp the image back to the admin server
scp the image over to the client
run client_config within the transferred image, to install the client.

I can't remember where I got the idea/process for this originally but I'm sure it was a "standard" workaround, though the script is mine.  Unfortunately it looks like the scripts have all changed now we've upgraded to 6.5.1.  Does anyone know if a similar process is possible or documented, while I wade thought the scripts trying to re-write mine?  I know there are options to transfer the client files via sftp/ssh now, but these still won't work for us.

Master/media :  Solaris 9 NBU 6.5.1.
Clients :  Solaris 8/9/10.

thanks, Phil
