All,
Ok, I am a little perplexed. I have been receiving an random error ever since I upgraded my environment to 6.5
I currently have 1 SUN master, 2 Windows Media, 19 SUN media, and 6 HPUX media servers. Well, 3 of the HPUX boxes contain ORACLE databases and 2 of them seem to get this same error. They perform some where around 24 backups during the day, with 1 Level0, 3 Level1, and 20 arch backups. We run 4 channels at one time with multiplexing on.
This is what happens about once a day.
4 channels kick off..... 1 channel gets the error below with a status 25, the other 3 channels do a channel 6 and the main job completes with a status 0?!?!
Output from the channel that comes up with an error 25:
======================================================================
01/21/2008 15:33:44 - Error bpbrm (pid=4010) could not disconnect from bpcd on soapkg2
01/21/2008 15:33:46 - Error bpbrm (pid=4010) could not close CLIENT_CMD_SOCK, Bad file number (9)
01/21/2008 15:33:48 - Error bpbrm (pid=4010) listen for client protocol error - couldn't write necessary information on /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/user_ops/dbext/logs/27608.0.1200947602
01/21/2008 15:33:40 - connecting
01/21/2008 15:33:43 - positioned N3E10H; position time: 0:00:08
01/21/2008 15:33:50 - end writing
======================================================================
So, I can kick it off right after it fails and it works just fine.
So, I looked at the dbext logs file and it looks fine, except it bothers me that it has these 2 lines:
15:33:42 INF - Data socket = soapkg2.IPC:/tmp/vnet-04011200947620751523000000000-a04011;9162fc35ddc740f7e9587ea5435d3348;4;1800
15:33:42 INF - Name socket = soapkg2.IPC:/tmp/vnet-04036200947620971517000000000-a04036;e6cf5457433f36bc51dca09ee7521063;4;1800
I don't have vnetd on these servers
Anybody seen this error before?
