Dude you are right. The problem is i had a guy next to me who was doing
the upgrade and knew all the steps ( apparently ). As im new to 6 im
only just finding out these things now. I have read the documentation
since and as you say it says you can run it but doesnt mention if you
can run it after backups have been working on those 5.x media servers.

The reason the media servers were not upgraded to 6 was totally down to
stupid management and change control where they only asked for the
master server to be upgraded and as it wasn't written on a piece of
paper that the media servers should be done too they were not allowed to be.

I think im going to try and run it now anyway and see what happens.
