To add to the comments already if you want to freeze a lot of tapes in
one go id do a simple loop so you can forget it.
Once you have removed your scratch as previously explained try this to
freeze all other media :-
for tape in `bpmedialist -l | awk '{print $1}'`
do
echo "Going to freeze media [$tape]"
bpmedia -freeze -m $tape
if [ $? = 0 ];then
echo "Media frozen successfully"
else
echo "Problem freezeing media [$tape]"
fi
done
