Everyone I've heard from or have spoken with, who can wait, as there is now a direct migration path from 5.x to 6.5 (conversion still required, can't skip that pain) is going to do that, but around of after the release of 6.5 MP1 or even MP2 (which from my understanding will be released as 6.5.1 then 6.5.2.).

Im looking at testing 6.5 as we are on 5.1.

Thought we may as well jump to the latest version (seeing as the upgrade path is workable) and hope for the best.

Symantec Support are raving about 6.5, but I guess they would :-)

I would recommend upgrading to 6.0MP4 first, and get that working.
Let 6.5 stabilize for awhile before making that plunge. 6.5 was just released.

[Veritas-bu] Netbackup upgrade 6 or 6.5

Has anyone got 6.5 yet? We are running NBU 5.0 MP7 on a predomintatly solaris platform. We are due to upgrade h/w and s/w and i was wondering was it worth going for 6.0 which seems to be used quite a bit by people now, or do we go to new 6.5 ? Also we have around 20 servers including a 2 node Sun Cluster ( attached to T3 arrays ) running oracle10g.
