It uses a 1024 byte ANSI label. You don’t say what kind of
system you have, but if it is UNIX you can dd bs=1024 if=/dev/rmt/xxxxx | od –c
to see what it looks like.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] label question
Dear all,
I have a
question for the backup group: When NetBackup starts writing to a
new tape, what label format does it use? In particular, do you know if it
writes an ANSI or IBM label, or if it just uses a NetBackup-specific label?
Rgds
Abhishek
