This problem is the reason that our master and media servers at at mp4
and our windows clients are at mp3. 
 
So it should work for you. 
Since mp5 is due out in the next few days you might want to contact
support and see if they can get  you the mp5 binaries.

hi,

I migrated our master server (solaris) to MP4 and our 30 other servers
(Linux, solaris, windows 2003) to MP4 too.

Now I have 4 2003 servers that are not backuping.
I have this problem: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/286954.htm

What I'll try today (for the nightly backup) is to get rid of the
ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES and SHADOW COPY.. instructions and replace it with: the
c:\, d:\, e:\...

What I want to know, if I downgrade those servers to MP3, will I have a
problem that will give problems to other severs? Or as long as my master
is MP4, I can have MP3 clients?
