This is where your NetBackup Catalog backups come into play, and your
Disaster Recovery method to get the Server back in the event of a hardware
or software problem.

It should be in the Admin Guides.

For the record, I dont backup the catalog backups via NetBackup as I believe
they are excluded anyhow.

As long as you have a method of backing up your system (ie: Windows OS,
System Vol, have the necessary software), and a good catalog backup of
NetBackup, you should be fine.

You could also look at drive imaging software too - ghost for example,
backup exec recovery manager, True Image, ect !

I have 3 methods to get my systems back - never rely on one method!

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Master Server Backup

Greetings Everyone,

Just a quick question - How does everyone backup there Master Server? Im
running NBU 6 MP4 on W2K3 and I tried doing a full backup (ALL LOCAL DRIVES
AND SYSTEM STATE). Of course I got several DB errors saying the process was
open or being used by another program.

What if my master server crashes? What do I do? I have no Media Servers in
my setup. Please give me all feedback possible.

Thanks Alot,
Anas
