>From multiple support tickets spanning 4 months back I have final
verification on Symantec's side that it is an actual bug within their
product.  I thought I would share it here just in case anyone else have
experienced this problem.  If you use NetBackup Server (not Enterprise)
and have never used the staging you might not have seen this bug.

 

NetBackup Server and Java Administration Console have a bug where it
will not display the check box to enable staging in the DSU Attributes
and it will also not show the Button to get to the scheduling.  There
will be a .jar java fix for the Java Administration Console in the
Maintenance Pack 4.  This bug is cross platform for the Java
Administration Console and I have verified it for both Windows and Linux
versions.  

 

For anybody else that is missing the GUI feature and does not want to
configure and schedule staging through the cli should contact support
about this issue to get the pre-release fix.  The file that gets added
or replaced is nbjP.jar.

 

>From Symantec on the issue:

 

"For the issue of being unable to modify the staging schedule on the
DSSUs, the fix will be included in our next patch release, 60_MP4, which
should be available some time next month."
