All large enterprise backup solutions have flaws and are just plain
annoying in one way or another.  

Jumping ship just because another one might be better without trying it
out extensively yourself is just wishful thinking.

I like the unified database model of Networker (and especially like the
fact that media knowledge is retained until actually overwritten) as
opposed to the different databases of NetBackup.  I also really like the
ability to ask the backup software to move tapes around, rather than
usually having to go into 'robtest' and move them around without
NetBackup knowing.

Netbackup's scheduler is considerably more flexible, especially with
regard to levels and retentions than what Networker has done in the past
(although I'm unfamiliar with what's in 7.3).  Policies are more
flexible than Networkers groups.
