And after installing the 'dongle' you have to restart the library for it
to recognise it. Then it will say on the front panel that it is
web-enabled.
It is not the world's best GUI and the annual license charge is very
steep, considering there has never as far as I've seen ever been any
development work on it - no new versions. Many other libraries have a
free GUI with much better functions.

The library has an IP to provide network connectivity for SNMP, etc.
if you want to use the management console, you have to buy the license
from Sun/STK, and one of their technicians has to come onsite to configure
the library, install the license key on the library and install the
"personality module", which basically looks like a DB-9 connector with no
wire or anything attached to it....plugs into the library just above the
LC fiber connector.

Hi all
Just a quick one. On a new site location and was trying to get the
management interface working on an L700 , ip is configured but when
browsing to it it falgs the following message
Library "x.x.x.x" is not web enabled. Make sure that your key has been
properly installed.
Can you check from the front panel on how to enable the web interface or
presumably SUN will have to enable with some sort of license key. What I'm
thinking though is why would the ip be setup if the management interface
was'nt meant to be working._______________________________________________
