Yes, you can use the ./vmquery -deassignbyid command.
Note, this does create inconsistencies between the databases, but it works.
What I mean by the above in say the image catalog it will have records of
that tape unless you clean them out.  Use vmquery and deassignbyid now and
you can always open a ticket with Veritas, send them your info and they will
run the nbcc command to help clean up your environment.

If you are using 6.0, I am unsure if -deassignbyid works, it may be a newer
command, I do not recall.
