First off, we're running NBU 6.0 MP2 on Windows 2003 SP1.

With that off, I've had some fibre/SAN related oddities this week with
drives going down. Turns out I'll be updating my HBA drivers next week.
With all the bouncing drives, I decided a cleaning might not hurt. Our
ADIC Scalar with LTO3s was installed last November and hasn't reported a
need for cleaning as of yet, but I wanted to do a manual clean, just to
be on the safe side.

I have five LTO3 cleaning tapes in the none pool. I re-imported them
today with the Media Tag of DLC. Their type is showing HCART, not
HCART_CLN. When I try a manual cleaning, I end up with the following:

4/28/2006 9:38:41 AM - requesting resource Tape0:__ANY__
4/28/2006 9:38:41 AM - Error nbjm(pid=6636) NBU status: 96, EMM status:
No media is available
4/28/2006 9:38:43 AM - end operation
unable to allocate new media for backup, storage unit has none
available(96)

I had this before re-importing the cleaning tapes; then their Media IDs
were simply their barcode.

So, what is NBU looking for, exactly, when a cleaning is requested? Do
I need to change the media type on my 5 cleaning tapes? Something else?
I don't have barcode tags beginning with CLN; I remember finding
somewhere that using Media IDs and Barcode rules on import was enough.
Is this still true with 6.0?

Also, I've walked through the NBU MM Admin Guide's procedures, Ch4, pp
208-209.

Thanks,
Jason
