We have our Oracle policies set up with a Cumulative-Inc, Full, and
Default-Application-Backup.
The "Default-Application-Backup" is set for wide open (all the time)
The Full is set for Sat 00:00 - Sun 23:59
The Cumulative Inc is set for Monday-Friday 18:00-05:00

I have the Cumulative-Inc frequency set for 16 hours, not 1 day. So
when 6p hits, the backup policy window will open and the job will run
*promptly at 6pm*
I have the Full frequency set for 4 days (not 1 week), so when Saturday
morning hits, it will always fire off promptly.

Both the Full and the Cumulative-Inc use the Default-Application-Backup
to handle the interaction with RMAN.

Something that helped with us as well, is in your RMAN template, use
the Default-Application-Backup (or what you have as the Application
Backup type) as your schedule type.

Thanks for your prompt reply.  As per you said, Ive created schedules:
My IT Manager wants the oracle backup to be start every day evening 6
pm.
Application backup:  window will remain open for 24 hours (shyam
suggested)
Automatic Full backup:  every day evening 6 pm
                                    Frequency: 1 days
                                    Retention: infinity
Backup selection list:  Ive added the template "oratemp.tpl"
clients: test.domain.com

As per scheduled, the backup didnt get fired at 6pm. Any help would be
much
appreciable.
