$ /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist
EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found

I am having some issues with clients defined in DNS as partial and FQDN.

For instance, I did the following:

$ dmesg > /tmp/dmesg
$ bpbackup /tmp/dmesg
$ echo $?
0
$ bplist
EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found

In the admin backup console the backup completed successfully; however,
bplist is not working.

The CLIENT_NAME in bp.conf is as follows:

CLIENT_NAME =3D box-name

As you can see there is no FQDN.

When I check the client in NetBackup -> Host Properties -> Clients, I see
the box-name.subdomain.domain.com.

So then I decided to check /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images.

I see:

box-name *empty
box-name.subdomain *empty
box-name.subdomain.domain.com *the one with the indicies

I tried changing the client's name to the FQDN and back to what it was, I
still get:

$ /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist
EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found

Next I checked the netbackup logs on the master server and I see:

06:26:09.523 [580] <2> get_type_of_client_list_restore: db_getCLIENT()
failed: no entity was found (227)
06:26:09.523 [580] <2> get_type_of_client_list_restore:
db_getCLIENT_by_hostname() failed: no entity was found (227)
06:26:09.523 [580] <2> get_type_of_client_free_browse: db_getCLIENT()
failed: no entity was found (227)
06:26:09.524 [580] <2> get_type_of_client_free_browse:
db_getCLIENT_by_hostname() failed: no entity was found (227)

Does anyone know the proper way to fix this issue?

Thanks,

Justin.
