Hi,
Can anybody explain how the pre-scan prior to backups works.
My understanding (Netbackup 4.5) is that the pre-scan of backups takes
place on the initial FULL backup, and then at an intermittent period
there after. What is the criteria for this intermittent period, and is
this still the behaviour in Netbackup 5.1/6.0 ?=20
Also, does the pre-scan happen when running Incremental backups, or
have any impact when using Synthetic backups ?=20
If my understanding is incorrect completely then please put me straight.
=20
In addition, when configuring Synthetic backups it is stated that the
Track moves options is required to be enabled. We have run our first
full backup with intent to start using Synthetic backups, but the backup
was run without this option ticked, can we simply tick this option on
now and everything will work as expected, or does the option have to be
ticked prior to running the first full backup. Any ideas ?
Many thanks in advance
