Flash backup sucks in this case -- The backup is the size of the
filesystem - if you have a 900G filesystem with 300G used, the backup
is 900G. My experiments with FlashBackup had it going at about double
speed for raw I/O - but writing 3x as much data.

What I'm seeing is that backup speeds on the large windows file
servers are almost directly proportional to the average file size.
They're not taxing the disk or the tape drives. FlashBackup would be
great in theory - but in practice it doesn't help in this case. (We
did by the advanced client licenses for these boxes with intent to use
flashbackup)
